Freeminds is the next step after graduating from Intensive Outpatient Group to help support these teens in staying sober. Freeminds will be doing an art project for this event. Some of the art will be individualized and personal and other art will be done in groups. The art will pertain to "shattering" a myth or trauma or drug. The art will be on display at our event with the teens available to answer questions. This event will be held at our facility and therapists and administrators will be on hand to provide information and answer any questions.

Presentations will focus on youth drug use here in Arizona, specifically in the Pima County area. The DEA agents will engage youth in an interactive discussion on career paths and drug myths. The Leaders in Action youth group will be partnering with Amistades to facilitate youth-led Drug Facts bingo game during lunch on campus. Youth will provide prizes to peer participants and will pass out information on different drug myths. Amistades will also be working with the Sunnyside Unified School District to create a social media impact awareness campaign as well as passing out drug facts to parents on water bottles during school parent pick up.

The 400 Ambassadors are in Middle and High Schools across Florida. They will also have a co-branded version of the 2017 National Drug IQ Challenge which will be distributed in their schools. Also, Informed Families will promote NDAFW and LYM through a social media advertising campaign.

The presentation is geared toward Middle School and early High School students and their parents to help them realize the effects of drug and alcohol abuse and the health, social, and legal ramifications associated. A parent from our community who has lost a child to drug addiction will discuss the ongoing effects this has had on her family, and offer insight to other parents to help keep their own children from heading down the path to drug addiction.

Social media graphics are released each morning as youth are commuting to school (prime phone time). The facts are reinforced during 5th period in a 15 facilitated chat with teachers, and at lunch, students compete for donated raffle prizes (amusement park passes, food gift cards, adventure passes, and spirit wear) by playing trivia games. Winners are announced every day on announcements. Parents are engaged through principal emails and social media. Pre and post-tests are given to parents and youth before and after NDAFW.

The purpose is to shatter the myths about marijuana through scientific based research and facts. The focus is on peer to peer education. THY students will share important drug facts during morning announcements Mon-Fri. On Monday, Mayor Sulka will be present at 8:45 AM to issue a Proclamation to kick off National Drug Facts week. We have created a Mannequin challenge that shows what happens to a student who uses marijuana one time. We would like teachers to show it following morning announcements on Monday (about 30 secs) to give off National Drug Facts Week. We would like an administrator to ask teachers to comply with this. We will challenge other classrooms to make their own Mannequin video using facts and guidelines we provide. We will post important facts about marijuana on yard size signs outside of school in lawn. We will create a life size display of 7 people. With the fact 1/7 students will be an addict, according to the Surgeon General’s report. We will copy and provide a marijuana fact sheet to be distributed to each first block class by first block teacher on Tuesday. On Wednesday, another drug fact trivia sheet will be distributed. Thursday and Friday classes or groups of students can submit their mannequin challenge to me. Winner announced on Monday. Thursday - A brief moment of silence to recognize those affected by alcohol or drug use. Friday - Team Up Against Drugs! Students and staff can wear their favorite professional or college team shirt (all other dress code rules apply).

A jeopardy trivia game will be delivered electronically in the classroom and used to educate the students on the dangers of using drugs. Students will be broken down into teams and asked questions regarding most commonly used drugs including prescription drugs and new psychoactive substances (NPS). We will provide the students with the factsheets provided by NIDA which will have answers to the jeopardy questions. This will facilitate teamwork and a collaborative environment where students would be able to discuss among themselves and work through the trivia questions before providing a team response. A brief presentation regarding key points about prescription drugs and NPS will be given to students prior to the trivia game to further emphasize the objective of the game and the importance of the educational event on improving their knowledge and understanding of the dangers of using drugs. Students will be asked to develop a logic model showing the link between substance use and the related consequences.

In this planned activity students from both campuses will participants would be students from class--- to --. Activities that we are going to conduct are; Registration to attend the program at information desk, presentation on science of addiction: risk and consequences. Small group discussion related to presentation, IQ challenge and online Chat Day, and the National Drug & Alcohol IQ Challenge. Further, we will distribute education materials related to substance abuse, such as flyers and booklets published by National Institute of Drug Abuse. We are planning to organize one event at Maggie Walker on January 23, 2017. In this planned activity students from grade 8 to 10 will participate.
