NDAFW spotlights CVS Health!
NIDA collaborated with CVS Health in 2019 to highlight NDAFW through in-store rotating audio PSAs and print and digital merchandise receipts in 9,800 retail outlets. NIDA is also continuing to explore opportunities to integrate its teen educational resources into the CVS Pharmacists Teach program to provide pharmacists with resource materials as they tour schools to discuss prescription drug misuse with young people.

We work to save lives by advocating for public policies that prevent kids from smoking, help smokers quit and protect everyone from secondhand smoke.
NDAFW spotlights The Addict’s Mom!
The "Addict’s Mom” is a national organization dedicated to helping mothers of addicts. The Addict’s Mom provides educational resources, provides grass root support groups and a caring online community of 40,000 followers that share, encourage and support one another.
NDAFW Event: The Addict's Mom will promote National Drug & Alcohol Facts WeekSM by starting a NIDA volunteer group. Our goal is to have a TAM representative from all 50 states to be responsible for media promotion. The TAM will Issue a press release about the work they are doing in the field educating communities about the consequences of teen drug abuse. The AddictsMom.com will send out 2 emails during NDAFW to tens of thousands of contacts including mothers that have lost their child to substance abuse, school based groups that include superintendents, principals and organizations that reach risky youth. TAM will create themes containing drug facts chosen by NIDA to be posted every day of NDAFW. TAM will also use the NDAFW hashtag to promote NDAFW.
NDAFW spotlights Family, Career and Community Leaders of America!
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12. Today 200,000 members in more than 5,500 chapters are active in a network of associations in 50 states, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including substance abuse.
NDAFW Event: Actively and effectively promote NIDA and NDAFW resources in support of the Safe Rides Save Lives PSA contest with State Farm; and encourage the youth to submit their PSA submissions utilizing NIDA resources during the week of Jan 25-31, 2016 as part of the NDAFW educational activities and register on the NDAFW website.

Galveston County Community Coalition is a project of the Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol (BACODA). BACODA, a United Way agency, is a community-based substance abuse prevention organization that provides sustained leadership and support for the Galveston County Community Coalition. BACODA has provided comprehensive prevention/intervention services since 1974.

Mentor Foundation USA works to prevent drug abuse among youth while helping them identify and pursue their personal and professional goals.
Shattering the Myths program is expanding rapidly with a pilot program that we are kicking off with three high schools in Hudson Valley. In addition the January youth rally at the House of Sweden we are also planning to do one with NIDA at NIH in Baltimore in February (date pending) and one in New York city in Feb/March.

Peer Health Exchange’s mission is to give teenagers the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college students to teach a comprehensive health curriculum in public high schools that lack health education.

SBHA will conduct a webinar that gives participants the opportunity to learn how to organize an event for National Drug & Alcohol Facts WeekSM and how easy it is to utilize NIDA’s free materials such as the National Drug IQ Challenge.

NDAFW spotlights Informed Families!
Informed Families: Hosting The Lock Your Meds Campaign will afford 61 youth and adult ambassadors in schools and communities across Florida to address the growing epidemic of youth prescription drug abuse. The Campaign asks parents to pledge to secure and take regular inventory of medications. Youth are asked to pledge to only take prescription medication as prescribed and under a parent or caregiver's care. An Implementation Toolkit that includes NIDA materials such as Drugs: SHATTER THE MYTHS, MJ: Facts for Teens, Science of Addiction and Drugs and the Body Poster will be delivered to the participating schools along with pledges, flyers, and posters to assist ambassadors. The first 50 ambassadors to return a minimum 100 signed parent pledges by February 28 will receive a $100 Publix gift card. Publix pharmacies will partner with us by displaying the Lock Your Meds signage at their counters.
