With all of the information in the movies on drug use and its negative side effects, watching movies together and discussing them as a group can help all of us learn to stay away from drugs. Rent a movie, get some popcorn, and stick around afterwards to discuss what you saw. Feel free to check out HBO’s addiction films and show a few of the films for Movie Night. The Saturday Night in a Dallas ER would be a great one to include. Ask a scientific expert and/or an ER doctor to answer questions and share their experiences; you can also hand out the Drugs: SHATTER THE MYTHS booklet. See the Video Event Toolkit for links to resources from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
