Every year, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) join forces for National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® (NDAFW). During NDAFW, communities and schools across the United States and around the world hold events that provide teens with many scientific facts about drugs and alcohol, using NIDA’s free materials and toolkits.
In 2019, nearly 2,000 events were registered for NDAFW. And 2020 will be NDAFW’s 10th anniversary; it will be held March 30 - April 5!
NDAFW events have been held with organizations like middle and high schools, local nonprofits and other community-based organizations, state and local health departments, PTAs, faith-based organizations, afterschool clubs, and more. If you’d like to plan an event or activity, we’ve got ideas to get you started!
One activity idea is a virtual game, “CSI: Web Adventures.”
In this game, you create teams to conduct a crime scene investigation (CSI) and see who can sort out clues and solve the mystery first. There are five CSI scenarios, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You can use one computer per team.
