Good news SBB readers, each week more and more of you are visiting the blog. Because more of you are tuning in, we want to make sure we provide you with the most interesting and helpful information. We always take your comments and your messages into consideration, and you've already given us great insight. So, we are taking it a step further. In other words, we want more of your feedback!

Here's how it's going to work. Each month, we'll post a specific question on the blog asking for your feedback. The first question is:

Question #1: What would you like to talk about, or know more about, on the topic of drug abuse?

To answer the question, you can either submit a comment by writing your response in the "Leave a Reply" box below, or send us a message. As always, we will read all comments and consider all feedback. The following month, check back with the SBB to see how we've addressed your suggestions and to answer the next question.

Your comments and suggestions will help guide the future development of the Blog. For example, if you think there are too many blog posts on nicotine addiction or not enough videos, or if you want to read more about real teens' stories or see videos on the consequences of prescription drug abuse, we want to know. We look forward to hearing from you, so let's get started.

Comments posted to the Drugs & Health Blog are from the general public and may contain inaccurate information. They do not represent the views of NIDA or any other federal government entity.

you rock my world

i would like to learn more about how people can get addicted to drugs.

@autumn--We have tons of info on our website: check it out . Come back and tell us something you learned. Thanks!

how can i pass a drug test if i used 2 days ago

@J LO--hmmm, you prob'ly won't.

Hi there,

I'd like to know what template you are using. I really like it. Thanks

People become addicted to drugs when it satisfies there Mazlows Hierarcy of Needs. And when there not on drugs there not satisfied and humans live for self gratification and the self.

I hope this helps.

Would love to see more information on prescribed medication as it relates to chronic pain and the potential for addiction. I have a disease that causese Chronic Pain, and my Dr's prescribe pain meds to get me through the day, however, there is certainly a tolerance the body builds up to the pain blocker.

Would love to hear what you have to say on this topic and if you come across any published articles or medical journals on that relate to this.

Great post! I love how you wrote it. Please keep posting.

good idea I like it !

I would like to know why Alcohol is legal, when it has proven to be more of a problem than cannabis. Cannabis is used more than alcohol today, and it is still illegal. We can smoke a joint and still be able to make a rational decision. You can smoke a tree of pot, and you will probably died from lack of oxygen before you would OD.
As for alcohol, watch your local news…

Alcohol is still used more widely than marijuana (51% v. 6% of people 12 and older), partly because it is legal. And no doubt, potentially dangerous—just not sure that one legal potentially dangerous drug is a good argument for legalizing another….in any case, that is outside NIDA’s mission, which focuses on the science behind drug abuse and addiction.

Great post, lets get some more ;-)

I think we should roll out some social entrepreneurship programs to encourage our youth to design programs, so as to stop the out-spread of drug and curb the drug abuse our society is suffering from.

It's sad to see so that more than ever, many teens are now giving into peer pressure to try drugs and alcohol.
