Let's Talk: How Do You Avoid Peer Pressure?

Sara Bellum

Peer pressure comes in many different forms. You might feel it in group situations, or you might have friends who try to get you to do things that make you uneasy, like smoke cigarettes, steal your parents' prescription medications, cheat on a test, or skip school.

It's hard to stand up for what you believe when everyone else is pushing something different. It's hard for adults, and it's especially hard for teens. So how do you do it—how do you resist peer pressure? What ideas do you have for staying true to you?

smoking marijuana is stupid and can wreak your life for good if you take it for to long
say no and walk away and tell a grown up.
learend nothing
if you have a friend that does these things then you should make it clear to them that you wont do it no matter what but still be there for them and their future :)
The best way to avoid problems is to have friends who DONT DO DRUGS. There is no question!!!
Say no
You can avoid peer pressure if you just hang out with the right people but everyone does get pressured into doing things that they don't want to do at least once in their lifetime but you should have a plan to get away from it when it does happen to you. For example, maybe walking away from the situation.
I think i should just stay away from them but in a certain way which they wont even notice that i no longer wanna hang around with them anymore
I think that if you have peer preasure, the best thing to do is to say no. I know that it is very difficult and sometimes scary, but it is the best way. But if you don't want to say no, you should have a script in your head in case you are in that situation
Make sure to hang out with at least one more person who thiks like you so it's easier to resist to bad peer pressure.
you tell your mum the situation and ask her to go and pick you up or if you have a friend that thinks the same as you you boyh walk away from the problem
You can talk to them, to your friends. If they are really your friends, they will support your decision and respect it. If the don't do so you show consider staying away from them
First, I choose good friends, but if they insist to do something that I don't want to, I say no.
I think the first thing you have to be clear about is what friends you want to join and who do not, even so, if you find yourself in a situation where you are forced to do something you do not want to avoid supporting yourself in the friends who think like you and teenr personality to say no, if you're the only one who thinks so, maybe that's not your group
