The healing and uplifting medium of music offers a great way to spread the message about the importance of healthy choices and the dangers of drug use. That’s why Facing Addiction with NCADD and MusiCares® (part of the GRAMMY music family) have teamed up for the MusiCares® Teens Make Music Contest.

In 2018, musicians between the ages of 14 and 18 submitted original pieces of music that celebrate life “above the influence” or that bring attention to the real-life consequences of drug use. Winners of the 2018 contest will be announced during National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week®, January 22-27, 2019.

First place winners will receive tickets to the GRAMMY Awards® and related events! Awards also include tickets to Vans Warped Tour, cash, and other prizes.

Want to get in on the action? It isn’t too early to start working on your original piece of music for the next deadline in December 2019! Check out the National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® Video Event Toolkit for ideas. More details will come soon.
